The laptop at the top of the image is a Teacher in a Box server. The router sets up a local area network (LAN) which enables the other devices to join the network via wi-fi. It is a closed system where people interact directly with the Teacher in a Box instead of the internet.
While supporting self-paced learning the Teacher in a Box server can also be connected up to a TV or projector for classroom teaching.
… and if there is a wired network of desktops, yes it can even hookup to them as well.
